Spring Celebrations

Published February 28, 2012 by sortitclickitdone

The beginnings of spring are here.  Small yellow flowers dot the side of our yard.  Now is the time to start planning our celebrations.  We are going to be thinking of Coming of Age ceremonies, birthdays, Easter, Passover, graduations, and weddings.  I like simple, remember?  I have found a fabulously easy way to remember all of my friends and family through cards that I design, my way.  I use templates similar to those you see below that I either purchase on my website or that I find on .  I find a template I enjoy, add pictures and a simple saying.  I then print out 20 and keep in my drawer at home to send for everyday occasions.  I use the special occasion templates for those times when a generic card just won’t do.  What do you do to make it simple?

Simple Collage

My traditional picture collection?  A disaster.  Plastic bins and albums full of pictures that have been long neglected until 2 years ago.  Now, some of them are scanned, organized, and believe it or not, scrapbooked.  Before Creative Memories, I tried to scrapbook not very successfully.  You see, I am artistically challenged.  I thought I had to cut circles out of the photos and try to arrange them on the page—believe me NOT pretty (someday I will put ugly scrapbook pages on this site—starting with my own).  As I began scanning and organizing, I found it easier to gather a group of pictures for a traditional page.  I AM still artistically challenged but I get a lot of help from the folks on the Help Zone at my website

Birthday Memories

and from page planners.

As you see in the photo, I want a way to remember my son’s 3rd birthday with all of the fun and friends.  A collage is the best way to display these wonderful memories.    You don’t have to do it complicated, you don’t have to add a lot of bling.  Just pure and simple memories arranged in a simple way.

I didn’t even have to cut circles in the pictures.  If I can organize and scrapbook my pictures, you can too—give it a try.  Need help, ask your personal photo coach—ME!  Happy scrappin’

Wall Art Made Easy

Published February 14, 2012 by sortitclickitdone

I like simple.   I never thought of myself as a terribly creative person much like most of us who grew up with minimal art exposure.  Since my family is the most important subject I ever focus on, I wanted a simple way to display photos.

Once I started my involvement as a Creative Memories Independent Consultant, I was still looking for simple.  Out of all of the projects I have created, my favorite has to be the 12×12 calendars which have perforations to use again and again.  I made my calendar using Storybook Creator.  The free templates made it even easier.  Once the year was done, I put all of my calendar pages in a Picfolio Max album—just slide in the pages and done.

Now that a new year has arrived, I simply go to the Picfolio, pull out the page that suits the month and voila!  Instant wall display as I magnetically attach it to my Everyday Display Board.  I attach my son’s birthday card and some sayings to the cute clothespins that come with it and I even hung a heart ornament on the top that I made with a heart template and scrapbook paper carefully folding the hearts in half and gluing them together.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you…lovin’ the simple.
